Suspect held in slaying: two others still sought

A Chicago man was ordered held in lieu of $900,000 bail Sunday in a fatal shooting three days earlier in the Uptown neighborhood.

DeWayne Thomas, 20, of the 4500 block of North Clarendon Avenue is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting of Peter Anderson, 31, of the 1300 block of West Walton Street, said Assistant State's Atty. Ken Fiedler.

Police responded to a call of shots being fired about 10 p.m. Thursday and saw three men walking about 40 feet from where Anderson had been shot in the back in the 800 block of West Windsor Avenue, Fiedler said. Police chased the three and caught Thomas, who admitted in a statement that one of the others had fired the shot, Fiedler said.
