Another suspect arrested for Uptown murder
By Jim Sterne, News Editor

Saeed Younger, 22, of the 4600 block of N. Clifton Ave., has been charged with the first degree murder of Peter Anderson, 31, of the 4500 block of N. Sheridan Rd.

Anderson was found on the sidewalk at 10:03 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, in the 800 block of W. Windsor Ave. with his pockets turned out and a fatal gunshot wound to his torso.

The responding officers combed the neighborhood and found three subjects to question. On July 20, DeWayne Thomas, 20, of the 4500 block of N. Clarendon Ave., was charged with first degree murder.

Anderson's is the eighth murder in the last two years in Uptown. Local residents who have banded together to keep tabs on crime call the area a drug and gang hot spot. The Uptown Chicago Commission (UCC) has encouraged businesses to hire a security guard to watch the area near the Wilson Ave. CTA and is working with the CTA to ensure the safety of citizens and their children.
